We believe that eating local is an extremely important and powerful thing. Not only does it have good environmental repercussions but also social ones. We encourage people to eat food grown close to their home. To us, this means grown and made with ingredients sourced as close to the consumer as possible. We also believe that local should be sustainable and environmentally friendly. Sadly this does not always happen. Local is not always synonymous with clean, humanly raised food.
All our grains are sourced from western Canada from certified organic farms. Our certified organic spices our sourced from a local company. We hire local people and use local companies whenever posible. We try and support local economies so that they can thrive. When we buy local products the carbon footprint of your food is greatly reduced along with the other environmental impacts that are created from shipping long distances. Buying local also results in fresher products.
Buying it from farmers markets allows you to meet the farmers and producers of your food and ask them questions about how it was raised or produced. We love to talk to people about how we raise your food and love the questions that you bring to us. We want you to be informed about the meat that you are eating. We want you to know where your food comes from.
