100% Grass-Fed & Finished Beef

100% Grass-Fed & Finished Beef
Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and finished, meaning they never receive any grain, grain by-products, at any point in their lives. Their diet consists solely of certified organic grass, raised and harvested with care on our own land.
How Our Cattle Are Raised
Our cattle thrive on a natural, seasonal diet of certified organic pasture and hay:
Summer Grazing: In the warmer months, we use rotational grazing (also called time-controlled grazing). This involves moving cattle regularly to fresh pasture, often daily. This movement of the cattle allows them to feed on fresh grass, prevents overgrazing, allows the grass time to recover after being eaten, improves soil structure, and supports biodiversity. The time spent on each paddock depends on factors like grass maturity, rainfall, and forage density. This movement of the cattle is a critical part of regenerative agriculture.
Winter Feeding: During the winter, cattle are fed certified organic hay harvested from our own organic fields. These are processed through a bale buster, which fluffs and spreads the hay into bunk feeders, keeping the hay clean for the cattle. The location of feeding is rotated throughout the winter to prevent buildup of manure and to naturally fertilize the land. Shelter from the wind is provided using windbreaks, and lots of organic straw is provided to give them a warm and dry place to bed down in.
Organic, Ethical, and Sustainable
All of our animals including our beef are certified organic, which means:
- · No antibiotics
- · No growth hormones
- · No animal by-products
- · No synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides on their feed or pasture
All of our animals, including our beef, are also Certified Humane, which means:
- · No electric prods or inhumane handling
- · Access to pasture and ability to express natural behaviors
- · Shelter, bedding, and space to rest comfortably
- · Low-stress handling, transport, and processing practices
Better for the Animals. Better for the Planet.
Feeding cattle their natural diet of grass supports their health by maintaining the proper pH in their digestive systems, reducing stress and the need for antibiotics. When cattle are raised on pasture, they can express their natural behaviors, which promotes physical and mental well-being.
In turn, healthy animals contribute to a healthier ecosystem: their manure naturally fertilizes the soil, spreads grass seed, and enhances biodiversity—supporting birds, insects, and other wildlife. They are a key part of regenerative farming.
Health Benefits of 100% Grass-Fed Beef
The cattle being grass fed is not just better for the animals and environments health. Its also healthier for us. Compared to conventional grain-fed beef, studies show that 100% grass-fed beef contains:
· Higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for heart and brain health
· More conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a healthy fat linked to reduced inflammation and improved immune function
· Increased antioxidants, including vitamin E, beta-carotene, lutein, and vitamin C
· More B vitamins, vital for energy and metabolism
· Grass-fed beef is also leaner and contains healthier fat ratios, making it a nutrient-dense option for conscious eaters.
Local, Organic, Humane, 100% Grass-Fed Beef is better for the cattle, better for the environment, and better for you. We have been raising cattle this way since we got our first cattle and are proud to have been selling our organic beef direct to our customers for over 25 years.
