Fresh, Certified Organic, Certified Humane, Turkeys.

This year we were not able to receive orlop bonze turkey chicks for our Christmas flock. Our Christmas turkeys this year are a white turkey breed.   Like all of our animals our Christmas turkeys are certified organic and certified humane 

Our Christmas turkeys are raised inside warm barns that protect them from our cold and unpredictable Alberta winters. Our barns have windows to let the winter sunshine in and the turkeys are given fresh wood shavings to keep them clean and dry. The turkeys are given lots of room to move around and express their natural behaviours. We provide them with toys to keep them busy and perches they can rest on.

In addition to being able to pre-order a whole turkey, this year we are again offering the option to reserve a fresh turkey breast or a turkey thigh. Our turkey breast is a boneless turkey breast that has the skin on, our turkey thigh is a bone-in, skin-on turkey thigh. These are great options for smaller gatherings.

 

There are three easy ways to order your turkey:

•Online through our website https://sunworksfarm.com/collections/turkey Please note that when ordering online you will receive a confirmation email that has an automatically generated pickup date for the week after you place your order. Please ignore this date as it only applies to other items ordered. The correct date for turkey pickup is listed as part of the turkey product description on your confirmation email.

•In person at your preferred turkey pickup location (see list below)

•By phone through the farm office 1-877-393-3133 (office hours are 9am to 2:30pm Monday to Thursday- if you are calling outside of these hours please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as we can)

• Old Strathcona Farmers Market in Edmonton Saturday Dec 23, 8am to 3pm

• Downtown Edmonton Farmers Market Saturday Dec 23, 9am to 3pm

 Turkeys are not available for delivery to your door.

All Camrose Turkeys need to be ordered through Nutters in Camrose 780-672-8685.

The deadline to order turkeys is December 16th at midnight or when we sell out of reservable turkeys, whichever comes first.

When you place your order we take a $10 deposit per turkey, this reserves you a turkey but not a specific size. If you would like a specific size we recommend that you arrive at your pickup location early in order to have the best selection of sizes available.

 

The majority of our whole turkeys will be between 12lb and 26lbs (5.4kg to 11.81kg) and are $6.58/lb ($14.48/kg).

The majority of our turkeys breast this year will be between 0.88lbs to 2.2lbs (0.4kg to 1kg) and are $16.47/lb ($36.23/kg).

The majority of our turkeys thigh this year will be between 0.88lbs to 2.2lbs (0.4 to 1.0kg) and are $9.79/lb ($21.53/kg)
